Bulgarian Immigrant Investor Program

Status: Permanent residence permit, citizenship

Required investment amount: A BGN1 mln (around €512,000) investment to be maintained for five years qualifies for a permanent residency permit. An additional BGN1 mln (BGN2 mln total) shall qualify for citizenship.  

Description: The BGIIP was designed for investors who want a permanent residence permit in Bulgaria or a Bulgarian passport in exchange for investments in real estate, government bonds, share capital in Bulgarian companies, or intellectual property. The investment will be returned less the amount of processing fees.  

Benefits: Return of investment, a dual citizenship opportunity, no requirements as to local language fluency, visa-free travel within the EU, the possibility to live, study and learn in most EU countries (subject to certain restrictions). 

Time allowed outside the country: Unlimited
