Costa Rica digital nomad visa finally approved

Foreign nationals who work remotely and their families are now invited to apply for the visa to stay in the country for up to two years. The visa is initially issued for one year and can be extended for another 12 months.

The eligibility requirements include proof of a minimum income of $3,000 a month for a sole applicant, or a minimum of $4,000 if the applicant is coming with a family member.  Proof of health insurance is also a necessity. All paperwork must be completed in Spanish. 
Importantly, this type of visa does not permit local employment. However, foreign income is not taxable.
