The Indian authorities are planning to introduce special visas for foreigners arriving in the country to engage in healing and spiritual practices, The Indian Express reports.
According to India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a special Ayush visa category will soon be introduced for foreign nationals seeking to avail of traditional medicine, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy.
This initiative is part of the "Heal in India" campaign aimed at promoting the country as a medical tourism destination.
The date of launch and the price of the new visa category are yet to be set.
