Sweden issues more than nineteen thousand residence permits in April; Ukrainian refugees outnumber other applicants

In April, Swedish immigration authorities issued 19,367 residence permits, which accounted for slightly over 33% of the total number of permits granted so far this year. 

According to the monthly report published by the Swedish Migration Agency, the largest number of permits (12,608) were given to asylum seekers, including Ukrainian refugees fleeing the invasion. This figure is followed by 3,659 permits issued for work purposes and 2,025 issued for family reunification.
